Here is an Autoresponder / Welcome enhancement for the Simplenews module

In my whitepaper I mention that one of the key tools for a membership site is to have an Autoresponder module active. This module providing a facility to serve one or more messages, or specific content, to a subscribing user. I have another solution.

Ideally the Autoresponder module would be the tool. Unfortunately I have been unable to get this module working in a stable manner at the moment, so you may suffer from the same experience.

In the meantime I have developed an Autoresponder / Welcome enhancement for the Simplenews module.

It works on the subscription of a new user, sending the message you have entered at the relevant admin page. Checkout the readme file to set it up correctly.

It works reliably for me, there may be more elegant workarounds, but it does what it says on the tin.
